Today, on CNN, there was an article about Legacy Locker, a service that allows you to hand over your digital account info to someone in the event that you die. (Article is found here.)
I read about them once before and now, as then, my thoughts are pretty much the same: that's something cool. As I spend more (all?) of my time outside of work on the internet, I branch out into more and more things. Who would notify my friends on WoW if I died? Who would let my facebook contacts know if something happened to me? While there are people who have access to my WoW account (for now) and my facebook login is saved on my comp, that might not always be so.
I guess I could put all my login information on a flash drive and put it in a safe deposit box or something, but what if it doesn't work in the event of it being needed?
I always say I'm being morbid at times like this, but I can't help but think about a neighbor of mine in Philly who dropped dead of a stroke the day before her 40th birthday. I'm sure there are things that her daughter wished she could have put her hands on/knew about when she was going about preparing for the funeral and tying up ends.
I suppose I should start preparing my "death papers." The Beastie is too young to know/understand much about me (except that I'm mean because she can't have an Xbox 360 or PS3 right now) and my family knows even less to my thinking.
/starts a list of passwords/account info. . .
